Our 40th Annual Charity Golf Event - A wonderful success.

It was with some trepidation that the players comprising the 19 teams gathered at Yering Meadows Golf Club under a clouded sky and with a further concern for the forecast of some rain in the very near future. Players had taken on the contents of their bagged lunch plus a soothing coffee and, for others, something a little stronger. Yering Meadows Director of Golf, Dave Joyce, gave last minute instructions before all players moved out to their starting holes.

Fortunately there was no heavy rain and umbrellas were only needed for less than an hour during the round. From our experience, the field moved very well and the round was completed in about four and a quarter hours. Most players stayed after the round for a convivial drink and then enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner, which drew many complimentary comments. M.C. Paul McPherson then moved into drawing the winners for the raffle prizes. There were a large number of prizes and we thank both the donors and the buyers who generously spent up and at the end when the money was tallied, $1,020 was raised. Likewise the silent auctions were well supported and again the diners' generous bidding culminated in a further $1,230 being raised.

These amounts added to the generous sponsorships and registrations received from our loyal supporters bought the total proceeds raised for local charity to over $15,000.

I would like to take this opportunity to thanks all of those involved in the organization and participation in this very successful day for their ongoing support of the Footmen Foundation.
